The train offers four comfort levels for passengers. Meeting compartments are also provided. Design is developed with modern trends and operating experience of the Sapsan electric train in mind.

Schedule and key milestones
ECRT is the lead developer — design documentation has been developed since 2020 under contract with Russian Railways. Design follows an agreed work plan. In April 2024 a contract was signed for delivery of two lead prototypes with fixed deadlines for transferring design documentation to the manufacturer.

Domestic companies are prioritised for project implementation. New designs and technologies are being developed for individual systems. The electric train manufacturer is Ural Locomotives. Transmashholding enterprises are involved in the project.
