Permanent-way structure elements for HSR-1 — ECRT project

Permanent-way structure elements for HSR-1

ECRT is developing rail fastenings for railway track on a ballastless subgrade for the first HSR line Moscow – Saint Petersburg

Intermediate rail fastening node for HSR-1

ECRT is carrying out a comprehensive programme to develop an intermediate rail fastening node for the HSR-1 track superstructure.

  • benchmarking of analogues completed and prototype selected; a full set of design documentation developed;
  • prototype samples manufactured; laboratory, bench, and preliminary tests conducted — documentation assigned release "O";
  • samples manufactured for installation at the Sablino – Tosno test site on the October Railway;
  • production launch of the node under GOST 33477-2015 is in progress.
  • 2026

    Planned conformity certificate for the HSR-1 fastening node

  • 2026

    Installation of prototype samples and testing at the Sablino – Tosno test site

Track superstructure elements for variable-stiffness sections

In parallel, development and manufacture of elements for variable-stiffness sections is under way. At PMS-88, track panel assembly is in progress for installation and testing at the Sablino – Tosno test site; acceptance tests with release "O1" are being conducted.

  • design documentation developed for the concrete sleeper and the additional rail fastening node ICP 5;
  • a full test programme completed, including preliminary (factory) tests; documentation assigned release "O";
  • prototype track superstructure elements delivered for track panel assembly (PMS-88).
  • 2027

    Planned completion date

Mathematical modelling and design calculations

For the EVS 360 programme, the calculation framework links the train, track, and fastening elements — from clamp geometry to node behaviour within the track superstructure.

Clamp calculations

Optimisation of clamp geometry considering durability, natural frequency, and clamping force. Design stiffness of the fastening node is assessed separately.

Track–rolling stock interaction

Calculation of rolling stock loads on the node, accounting for track dynamics and various train–infrastructure interaction scenarios.

Node calculations

Verification of the fastening node for strength and durability using a computational mesh and an engineering contact model of the components.

Node within the track structure

Calculation of the node within the track superstructure, assessing rail stiffness and the elastic modulus of the sub-rail foundation.
