Development of track infrastructure elements for various railway operating conditions

Existing technical competencies

The Infrastructure Development Center has all competencies required to deploy infrastructure solutions:

1. Conducting research

2. Development of design documentation

3. Mathematical modelling

4. Conducting tests (laboratory and field) according to specially developed programmes and methods

5. Production ramp-up

6. Development of manufacturing processes

7. Support for deployment of innovative products

All solutions under development are interlinked in terms of the joint operation of rail fastenings, sleepers with under-sleeper pads, ballast layers, sub-ballast protective layers, and turnout products with sub-rail foundations.

The Infrastructure Development Center has competencies in developing techno-economic justification for deploying innovative track structures based on life-cycle cost assessment of track superstructure in the analysed range of operating conditions.

Applied technologies

Center specialists use advanced tools for implementing complex system projects when substantiating technical solutions:

1. Product lifecycle management (PLM) systems for document storage and change control

2. 3D modelling systems for design development and engineering documentation

3. Finite-element software suites for design and verification calculations of developed structures

4. Multi-body simulation suites for determining track–rolling stock interaction conditions

5. Systems for automating engineering calculations, experiment planning, and parametric optimisation to obtain technical solutions with required characteristics efficiently

6. Additive technologies and 3D scanners
